Saturday - steady 10 miles on a hilly road loop - 1 hour 17 minutes and quite comfortable - ran hard for the last couple of miles

Sunday - easy 5 miles on the running machine - 40 minutes

25 miles completed again.

i am going to revise my goals down towards 18-20 miles a week for the next couple of weeks as my wife is due to give birth any day to our second child any day now (due date was 23rd July)!

Week ending 18th July

Another 25 mile week - 26 actually.

Tuesday - 4 miles in gym - tried to run fast but could not and felt tired from the week before. Ended up with 7.30 minute miles.

Thursday - 6 miles easy around Primrose Hill and Regents Park in London - about 48 minutes

Saturday - 8 mile hilly trail/canal run - new PB of 1 hour 2 minutes 11 secs
Sunday - 8 mile hilly road/canal run - new PB 57 minutes 5 secs.

I did not expect such a good performance on the Saturday as I had felt tired during the week, so the Sunday PB was a real shock! After a 1st mile in 9 minutes (all up a steep hill) I averaged just under 7 minutes a mile for the next 7 miles and felt great!

Thursday - easy 6 miles through Primrose Hill and Regents Park - 48 minutes

Saturday - easy 6.5 miles around Ashridge with a friend - approx 1 hour

My first post - week ending 4th July

I am a recreational runner who has in the last 18 months become far more committed and regular in my weekly running including a number of half marathons. I felt it a good idea to set up a blog for me to monitor the volume and quality of my running. I have just come off my first ever 25 mile running week (a lot to some/very little to others!), and just completed a fairly hilly half marathon (June 13th) in a PB of 1h 37mins 5 seconds. This week I ran as follows:

Tuesday - 4 miles on running machine at just over 7.30 mins a mile (1 degree incline)

Wednesday - 8.5 miles hilly off road trail run - 1 hour 5 minutes

Thursday - easy 4 miles on running machine at 8 minutes a mile (1 degree incline)

Saturday - 8.5 road/canal path run with a couple of hills - 1 hour 7 minutes and felt tired/heavy legged
